"African Stripes"   by Betsy Gammons

Two attentive zebras, inspired by the watercolors of Galen Hazelhofer and Brittany Bellows, set the stage for this African based theme. I knew right away, after seeing  the chest for the first time, that I wanted those flat panels to be painted with something eye-catching, dramatic, yet playful. The bold colors, shapes, and patterns of African design offered just that!  I hope that your eye is captivated by these images,  especially the stripes that wiggle throughout each panel creating harmony.
