"Fancy"   by Gary Sokol

The artist began with a question:  What if the Shakers had done "Fancy" work on their pieces?  I used historically accurate patterns, hand-cut stencils and techniques to embellish the Shaker Blanket Chest.  Bronzing powders, varnish and oil color washes and brush strokes were used.
