The Friends Program is proud to announce Merrimack County Savings Bank's decision to become its Volunteer Program Presenting Sponsor. The Merrimack is being recognized as the Friends' lead volunteer sponsor in recognition of its recent $5,000 donation.
The Friends Program learned of this very generous award as National Volunteer Appreciation Week began on April 13. Across its Four Programs, the Friends Program marshals a corps of over 800 volunteers who contribute approximately 200,000 hours of community service.
“We share with the Friends Program a commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve, and we're pleased to be able to continue our support for this effective and important organization,” said Paul C. Rizzi, President and CEO of Merrimack County Savings Bank.
The Merrimack has a long tradition of community support as reflected by its contributions of funds and volunteer hours to countless worthy causes. The Friends Program is honored to be in the company of the many local nonprofits that benefit from the Merrimack's community-mindedness.
“Merrimack County Savings Bank has been a top sponsor of the Friends Program for many years,” said Friends Executive Director Jerry Madden. “The Merrimack's support across all of our Four Programs will help us recruit volunteers and bolster efforts to mentor at-risk youth, shelter homeless families, and help seniors remain active, independent, and involved in our community.”
Founded in 1975, the Friends Program is celebrating 40 years of community service. As a Concord-based non-profit human services organization, the Friends Program recruits volunteers to meet community needs. Friends volunteers advance this mission through Four Programs that mentor at-risk youth, shelter homeless families, and fulfill the need of N.H. seniors to actively contribute to the community.
