Speedway Childrens Charities Supports Youth Mentoring (Dec 2016)

The Friends Youth Mentoring Program received a $3,500 grant from Speedway Children Charities, which was distributed on December 8, 2016 at a festive event at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.  Featured speakers were Governor Maggie Hassan, Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas, and Scott Spradling, Master of Ceremonies.  Youth Mentoring Program Director, Terri A. Smith, Program Coordinator Maureen Desmond, Mentoring Volunteer, Susan Scarcello, and her mentee, Zoe attended to represent the Friends Youth Mentoring Program.  NH Speedway Children’s Charities Executive Director, Cheryl LaPrade, on behalf of her organization, handed out $267,528.00 in funding to 63 youth serving agencies.  The funds will positively impact over 120,000 children.  Terri Smith stated, “It was a truly heartwarming event.  Speedway Children’s Charities is a stellar example of child advocacy in the State of NH.”
