The 14th Annual Friends Charity Auction
“Reflections of Concord"
Friday, May 3, 2013, 6PM
Thank You Friends!
The Friends Program held its 14th Annual Charity Auction “Reflections of Concord” on May 3rd at the Grappone Conference Center. It was a smashing success due to the generosity of our trustees, sponsors, artists, donors, volunteers, and attendees. A special kudos goes to our auction co-chairs, Bob Couch and Joanne Gagnon, for their leadership that led to this year’s achievement. A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved, because pulling an event like this together takes a massive community effort. From our live and silent auction donors to the marketing/creative help that we received to promote the auction and our signature fine art pieces, we extend heartfelt appreciation. Through all of these efforts, we had one of our largest audiences ever. With 318 attendees, we were able to raise nearly $90,000, one of the largest amounts that we have ever raised! The Fund-A-Need designated for our Youth Mentoring Program (our first program established in 1975), was the beneficiary of over $36,000 of the total raised.
Also, congratulations to the Walton family (owners and operators of Rowland Studio, Main Street, Concord) for receiving the James S. Doremus award. Each year, the Friends Program Board of Trustees give this award in honor of the former Friends Program Executive Director, James S. Doremus for outstanding volunteer contributions to the Friends Program
We would like recognize and thank the following local businesses for their support which helped make the auction such a success: Merrimack County Savings Bank; Danconia Media; Concord Imaging Center; Sulloway & Hollis; Lincoln Financial Group; Concord Orthopaedics; Keystone Management Company; Preti Flaherty; Sanel Auto Parts; Shaheen & Gordon; X-Ray Professional Association; Cobb Hill Construction; Elektrisola; Nathan Wechsler & Company; Orr & Reno; Granite State Glass; Northeast Delta Dental; Rath, Young and Pignatelli; Ruedig Realty; Capitol Craftsman & Romance Jewelers; Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce; Concord Food Co-op; Endicott Furniture; Gibson's Bookstore; Hilltop Consignment; Mark Knipe Goldsmiths, Rowland Studio and The Concord Insider.
