The Friends Program is pleased to announce that it has received a $7,500 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation. These funds will advance the Friends Program's efforts to help homeless N.H. families through its Emergency Housing Program.
Since 1980, the Friends Program has operated this emergency shelter for families, providing 24-hour, seven-day-a-week staffing. Friends Emergency Housing provides intensive, community-based case management and short-term housing. The goal of the program is to transition homeless families into permanent dwellings.
These activities align with Lincoln Financial's commitment to the community. The company's Foundation web site notes, "We understand that until a person's basic needs are met, he or she cannot focus on education or finding sustained employment. This is why Lincoln is a strong supporter of initiatives aimed at ensuring all individuals have the ability to meet their basic needs for food, housing, and independent living. By helping fulfill these basic needs, Lincoln hopes to place the most vulnerable populations in a position where they can begin to build better lives through education and job training."
The Friends Program is grateful for Lincoln Financial's longterm support of our efforts to strengthen communities by building relationships that empower people, encourage community service and restore faith in the human spirit.
