Friends Program volunteers mentor local boys and girls, drive homebound seniors to medical appointments, and help shelter homeless families. We're able to recruit and support these community champions because of your financial support. Your donation today will help us build relationships that empower people, encourage community service, and restore faith in the human spirit.

Mentor Honored by NH Children's Trust (December 2019)

The Friends Youth Mentoring Program honors master Mentor Millie LaFontaine for winning the NH Children's Trust's Lucy Fowlkes Breed Family Service Volunteer Award. A reception was held in her honor on Tuesday, December 3 at the Friends Program office to present the award. Millie was joined by two former mentees, her husband, friends, fellow mentors and volunteers, Friends Board members, staff and leadership from the NH Children's Trust. Millie was presented with the award by Lucy's sons Allen and Taylor Breed.  It was an extraordinary evening celebrating Millie's many contributions and honoring community service and commitment to strengthening our communities. That is the essence of Millie's gifts and the true mission of the Friends Program.
