For the entire day on Friday, December 5, Bead It!in downtown Concord devoted 30% of sales to support Friends Emergency Housing. The day-long benefit culminated with the annual Midnight Merriment celebration. Bead It! has been holding this fundraiser since 2009.
"When we think about which causes to support, we think about ones that are the most local and benefit families," said Bead It! owner Donna Nordlund. "For us, Friends [Emergency Housing] is local and it's families. I feel it's more personal and has a bigger impact."
The fundraiser on December 5 generated $519 as a portion of sales. In addition, Bead It! keeps a donation can at the cash register year-round. Since May, Bead It! patrons combined to kick in $190.
Many, many thanks to Bead It! We genuinely appreciate all that they do to raise awareness and raise funds.
